Movember has arrived and things are about to get a whole lot fuzzier!

November is the month, men around the world devote 30 days to growing and grooming glorious moustaches in the hope of raising awareness about men’s health. Mo bros sport their upper lip fuzz and become advertisements for the month, aiming to raise funds and awareness for men’s health issues.

We all have men who matter in our lives—a dad, brother, grandfather, partner or friends. Worldwide, these men are facing health issues that are not been talked about and as a result, they are dying too young.

The Movember Foundation is the only charity that tackles men’s health on a global scale. The foundation addresses men’s health issues such as prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention.

The World Health Organization estimates that worldwide, 510,000 men die from suicide each year, that’s 1 man every minute. The effect of both prostate and testicular cancer on lives is also significant. Prostate cancer is the second most common cancer in men worldwide and the number of cases are expected to nearly double to 1.7 million by 2030.

This Movember, help stop men dying too young and join the movement.

There are lots of ways to get involved, raise awareness and funds.

  • Grow your Mo
  • Take the move challenge
  • Host an event

If none of these appeal to you why not attend an event nearby

Remember, Movember is not just for men. Mo sistas can get involved too by encouraging the men in their lives to take part.

At Good4U, we’re passionate about healthy eating and all things Good4U (pardon the pun)!
We’re super proud to be able to produce some of the healthiest foods on the planet and make healthy snacking so easy!

Our healthy snack range is bursting with nutritional benefits and in particular our seed mixes are an excellent source of Zinc, a mineral of great importance to men.

Zinc is a mineral with an abundance of nutritional health benefits. It is involved in promoting immune function, supporting healthy cell growth and development, ensuring proper sense of taste and smell, maintaining healthy skin and encouraging a good night’s sleep. But zinc is especially important for men due to its role in maintaining and improving prostate health. It also supports testosterone levels and overall sexual health.

Research suggests that cancerous prostate tissue contains significantly less zinc when compared to healthy organ tissue. As men age, they tend to become more sedentary, and their diets change, which can result in reduced zinc consumption. Men that do not have significant levels of zinc in their diet are more likely at risk of developing an enlarged prostate, prostatis and higher risk rates of prostate cancer.

So next time you’re reaching for a bar of chocolate, or stuck for a snack idea, why not try our Roasted Seeds or Super Seed Shots. Add them to your porridge, yogurt, salads, or have them as a snack on their own to help reach your zinc dietary requirements.
